Matthew Nixon and Matthew Southgate home in on Tour Cards in Spain

With just 18 holes to play, both Matthew Nixon and Matthew Southgate are in a strong position to realise their dream and secure their European Tour Cards for 2011.

Nixon carded at one under par 71 yesterday over the Stadium Course at PGA Catalunya Course in Spain. A solid level par front nine and a three birdie and two bogey back nine left him in 5th place.

Southgate has show his class by keeping his last four rounds under 70. Yesterday’s five under 67 included six birdies and one bogey took him into 19th place.

It was unfortunately a different story for Chris Lloyd, who had played consistently all the week. A five over 77 with a series of bogeys and double bogeys left him in 62nd position. However, Chris knows he can go low and will not hold back today.

We wish them all well.
